Yesterday at my friend's wedding, I realized that we have the same entourage march - Here Comes The Sun. This morning, I saw this entry from Gizmodo about a secret guitar solo for the song that didn't make it in the final version:

I've been mentioning that our major problem with the new space is the lack of storage cabinets. We had to be selective of our big pieces in the domecile and opt for multifunctional ones. So far, we've ended up with having made-to-order furniture.
I received this opportunity from the soon to open Mind Museum (opens to the public on 16 March). For Php600, one gets to sponsor 4 public school student to visit the Mind Museum. In exchange for the donation, you can visit the museum a month before it opens to the public. Without batting an eyelash, I made a donation to sponsor several students. A's not much of a special holiday person. So since we got married, we don't do anything much for the Chinese New Year. The closest activity that I could recall was last year when we had to roll 17 pieces of kiat kiat from our main door. Snuz had to participate of course since we could enter our home one at a time in a specific order. This is year, along with the new slate movement that we've been going through the past few weeks, is different. I've been seeing a number of entries about it on Facebook. An app called "The Number One Song When You Were Born." Mind you that the photo on the left is not my birthday song. I just grabbed it from someone else to use as a supporting literature here. Looks like everybody's busy having with their own new beginnings. In the next four weeks, A and I have to attend to these things almost 2 at a time! Not that I'm complaining. I would be more than happy to make time to attend to these things. And the best part of the whole thing is that all of these events are for people who managed to endure me for almost 20 years. Now who wouldn't make time for that?
For the one getting married this month, I've already raided their registry list long before I got the formal invitation. More gift options for me to choose from. To the one who's about to give birth, we have our stand by gift already. I couldn't mentioned what it is as she might be reading my blog entries (sneaky you!), but she could remind me her birthing date =) The tricky one is the one getting married in the US. A and I were supposed to fly out, but we got tied down to a lot of things. So, with a heavy heart, I had to advise the groom that we cannot make it. Now, I'm being bombarded with private messages in FB (and I thought it was the brides who's supposed to be the whiny one over not getting what they want for the wedding). I'm really happy for the three of them. I know they've all been waiting for this for so long that I couldn't help but ponder on it a bit while thinking of other things that we need in the new place hehe Well, to my three very special friends, here's to all of us as we all start a new chapter in our lives! To Today we've managed to cook the first dish in the new home despite the lack of storage space and other kitchen stuffs still in the box. We've managed to survive the week by buying food from our respective offices and I'll be buying extra for take out to serve as our dinner. Our buffet cabinet is supposed to be delivered today, but I have no idea what time they're coming (Hurry up, please! I wanna get everything out of the box already!). Anyway, there wasn't much cooking involved actually as the sugpo came from my mom and the pesto was a gift to us for Christmas. So, all I did was cook the pasta and mix the whole thing up. Nonetheless, I'm happy that the kitchen has been fired up already You know how we like going to the spa because of its relaxing feel? The smell, the sound, the whole shebang. I wanted to have the same feel at home. photo from healingsoundphilosophy.com
We still haven't finished unpacking, but I do love the feel of the new abode. There's something about being able to see the night sky when you go to bed and waking up to the morning sun (which means I wake up earlier now). It somewhat gives you this relaxing, vacationy feel to it.
It's a little farther from my workplace, but public transport is still easy. In front of us is the bus station that leads me to the train station. The train station leads me directly to my work place. A shouldn't be having problems going to and from work since he's just close by. As for Snuz, she has the privilege of going out at night to check out the new neighborhood and meeting new doggy buddies along the way. This gives A and I an exercise as well. It's like a date for the 3 of us. The crib still needs a lot of pimping up. We're still waiting for some more furniture to come in. I just hope we'll get everything ready before the Chinese New Year. What have you guys been up to early this year? |
