Looks good right? That's the puto that I bought from Ang Tindahan ng Itlog Ni Kuya. It's topped with cheese and salted organic duck egg and costs Php150/tray (about the size of 1 tray of eggs). Ang Tindahan ng Itlog ni Kuya sells organic ducks and its byproducts. A Laguna-based industry that delivers to Manila for a minimum purchase order. To those who would like to order smaller quantities (usually for personal use), they can deliver every other Friday in Megamall. I first had a taste for salted last year when a colleague of mine brought some. It has a different texture than that of salted chicken eggs. It's softer. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the preparation method, but so far, I've tried salted duck egg twice from different |
Since I was focusing more on the salted duck eggs when I placed my order on Ang Tindahan ng Itlog Ni Kuya, I thought I'd try their puto as well just for the heck of it. Boy was I in for a surprise! Their puto was light and has a different texture compared to its other varieties. It had an interesting taste, apart from the salted duck eggs, that makes it rather addicting to nibble on. Must remind myself to place another order in time for their next delivery in Megamall. Maybe I should include duck meat as well (recipe hunting mode).
