Nest Building: Bed Rest Project

I finally got myself to go around redecorating the bedroom. For one thing, we were finally able to purchase a bed. Well, more of purchase a nice spring bed at 50% off thanks to Beeconomic and Mandaue Foam. Finally got to bring out the Abel Iloco blanket that I bought last year too (proud to be Ilokano, of course!).

Not that I'm being picky with bedding, it's just that I know certain people (A and I included), who like staying in hotels at times just to stay in bed the whole day. So, I know that there's something about the bed that makes it conducive to sleeping. Nothing wrong if we try to mimic in the comforts of our home, right?

It was more of good timing that there are various bedding sales going on. Considering we got the mattress at 50% off and the bed frame was free (again, thanks to A's BDO Prestige Card), we decided to splurge on the bedding by investing on at least 500-thread count Egyptian cotton pieces. Some pieces we were able to get on sale like the Wamsutta pillow cases (600 thread count, queen size, Egyptian cotton) for just Php250/pair. The light blue pillow cases in the middle layer of the photo was just Php125/pair. Both pillow cases were bought at SM. The accent throwpillows were from Landmark at Php50 each.

The splurge part would be the 1,000 thread count fitted sheet (not in photo) and 2 pillow cases (the off-white pair in the photo) and the 500 thread count Egyptian cotton beige flat sheet (included in photo) that we bought at regular price.

What we didn't buy is a duvet or comforter. I guess we don't have a need for it at the moment, but I'm considering purchasing a memory mattress topper. Good thing Mandaue Foam will be having a sale from August 23 - September 2. I hope it goes on sale. At least the bed project has been dealt with. Now to move on to the rest of the bedroom accessories.

How about you, which part of your house have you splurged on?
