AIS Mum: My Mothercare Baby

I've been going through my checklist of items for Scout's arrival and noticed that Mothercare is his dominant brand. Proximity to their branches can be attributed to that: I live quite close to one branch and work in between 2 of their other branches. Apart from that, whenever I go shopping for baby things, I end up seeing what I like there.

For a first time baby hospital bag packer, going to a baby store to buy things that goes inside the back can be overwhelming, even with a list! I've gone inside a number of shops and ended up with nothing though I've seen the ones that needed to be bought. It was when I went to Mothercare that I found these in one pack:

Their unisex My First Eight Piece Starter Set in white actually gave me a sigh of relief. I didn't have to rummage through the whole store trying to assemble a basic set of a baby's essential clothing. It's all there in one pack. I intend to go through the hassle of picking individual designs eventually, but for now, I just needed the basic ones for the hospital bag. It was actually during this trip that got me comfy being inside a baby store.

When we tried looking for a diaper changing cabinet, my pulse keeps raising up because those things don't come cheap at all! We decided to improvise by buying a cupboard shelf from SM. What we did end up getting from Mothercare is their wedge-shaped changing mat.

The usual ones that I see look like this:

Aside from the wedge-shape having a more stable design in supporting a baby, we just wanted a plain and simple white changing mat. Will post photos of the changing station when we're done with it.

Last, well not really the last we'll see of Mothercare in Scout's ensemble, if this portable cot:

We didn't get this one directly from Mothercare, but it looks convenient, compact, and functional to have. Have been considering getting a Moses Basket, but Mothercare Philippines doesn't carry the Snug model here.

This looks a lot classier and less colorful/cartoony-for-my-taste as compared to the ones that they carry here in the market.

That's our initial Mothercare items that we have yet to put to a test when Scout comes out in a few weeks. We look forward to seeing them in action.
