With our current work skeds for the past few months, A and I have been having trouble finding a good place to bring our geomancer to when he visits us in Manila. As I've mentioned in a previous post, he knows fresh, quality food when he tastes it. So trying to look for one that's open until late hours is a challenge on it's own. During one of those late night search for good food and I guess we were just hungry already just trying to think of what to eat, we ended up in Nihonbanshi Tei located at the corner of Arnaiz Avenue and Amorsolo Street in Makati. It's bigger than the Izakayas in Little Tokyo. This actually has 2 floors and parking is rather difficult due to the number of Japanese customers coming in (which of course is a good sign that the food is authentic). chirashi ebi tempura miso soup Service tea is available for free with a choice of hot (green tea) and cold (barley tea) varieties. I prefer my barley tea hot, but since the Filipino servers are obviously not tea drinkers, I couldn't seem to get them to agree to serve it to me hot. Minus points on that (plus points for Hana Izakaya for giving in to my request). Overall, for the quality and authenticity of the food, the price is reasonable. It's no Seryna, but definitely worth coming back to.
