No, I wasn't hoarding consumable goods, this is cart 1 of our relief goods donation for Typhoon Haikui victims. My dad has always been a great believer of sharing your blessings with others. It's something that he taught us for as long as I can remember. And I can say that he taught us well enough in giving that we continued to do so though he's no longer with us. A and I have received so many blessings over the years that it's only natural for us to share them with others, most especially in this time of need. We stocked up on the basics: water, juice for the kids, bread spreads, toiletries, sanitizers, and medicines. We had to breakdown the items that we purchased due to the logistic issue of how to transport the items to the drop off points. There was a relief drive at work, so I bought the food items in Megamall. Since I couldn't carry the items on my own, I advised the volunteer group of the donation and they had our security group transport the goods back to our quarters. That was pretty convenient! As for the rest of the items, we used A's BDO Prestige Card points to purchase the items at Watson's and dropped them off at Aracama. What I wanted to do, but didn't get to was take part in the relief operations by helping pack the goods. Since our headcount at work was cut by more than half, I ended supporting the whole office...for almost the entire week. I was just pretty tired come end of work day. Just the same, it feels good to be able to help out. |
