 | Glass lamps are so in nowadays. I keep seeing them in malls and can be quite pricey, ranging up to a few thousands depending on the size and details involved. I really like them as a decor, but not really interested in using the lamps. So, I had to resort to other means. I have an idea on how to go about it, it's more of the availability of the materials that I need to worry about. |
I just need 4 things:
1. nice glass bottle
2. glass paint
3. sponge to dab the paint onto the bottle
4. lamp shade
I couldn't find a lamp shade that I like, but opted to use an alternative material: pen holder. So, here are the components of our blue glass lamp:

This project doesn't take long to finish (depending on the size of the glass bottle that you intend to use). After the paint has dried, I just inverted the pen holder and placed it on top of the bottle. And here they are:

Following the advise of a colleague, I placed an LED light at the mouth of the bottle so that I could really use it as a lamp. Good thing I followed the suggestion because we ended up with something that's still nice to look at at night.
As for the empty Martin Asti bottles, I'm thinking of doing this:

The blue shade will help tie up the blue, green, and brown hues that's going around in our living room. Hi ho A to SM away!!!
