Dining Out: Kristina's Inutak

One thing that is bound to get my attention easily is a food place that serves only one item and seems to attract many people. That's how it was while I was walking around Rockwell. I passed by this stall, where people are having a taste test. I then heard the person managing the store that they don't have anymore left to sell until after an hour when the new stocks come in. Hmm, definitely worth looking into.

I approached the stall and the lady scooped out this gooey mixture with 3 layers. It somewhat looks like sapin-sapin only oozing with gooeyness (and I mean looks deliciously gooey). Did I mention that it's gooey? Honestly, I have never seen anything like it. It's called inutak (never herad of it, I know), a delicacy that the people of Taguig are proud of.

Who wouldn't appreciate instructions that come with
unknown food?

Now, for the deliciouly gooey part:

Inutak is made from galapong (ground rice with water), coconut milk, and sugar. It's topped creme brulee style with a caramelized crust. A 9" diameter inutak costs Php350. Unless you intend to bring it to a gathering, buy the smaller box.

I was advised that it goes well with ice cream. True,  but I like it the way it is. I heard that they will be itroducing varieties like adding in tablea and having healthier versions of it.

You guys should try it out!
