As We Say Goodbye To Our Humble Abode

I'm becoming quite nostalgic as A and I have started our flat-hunting. I remember the first time I saw the ad for our current flat here in Mandaluyong:

The place is 41.1sqm that comes with a balcony overlooking the country club on the right side of the balcony. The unit came in almost fully furnished as it only lacked 3 things: TV, fridge, and a stove. However, we requested the unit owners (we're very lucky to have them) to give us an unfurnished one instead and just leave us the mattress. It was more of a taste preference on my end since the unit would be the beginning of our nest-building project. Over time, we also found out that no matter how strong the rains are, we can always keep our balcony door and windows open and not worry about water coming in. Not only that, power outage is not a problem because the unit comes equipped with an emergency power system which could still support lights (in a certain section of the unit), TV, and fan. It's a pretty good deal.

The first thing that we did is frost the balcony doors and windows for privacy. I'm not a curtain person, it would be more costly to buy a number of curtains (since the balcony occupies one side of the unit) and send it to the cleaners for regular washing. We went for a combination of bamboo design and regular frost to give the unit a Zen feel.

The unit owners allowed us to change the color of the walls. So, I didn't have to put up with a pink living room (which we've been using as a bedroom) and an orange-walled bathroom. The bedroom was untouched since we barely used it for its purpose. This is how it looks like now:

This place has become a home for the 3 of us. Snuz had all the balcony to herself though she's most of the time indoors. This place has seen the beginnings of our married life. But as we continue our journey through life, so must we begin Phase 2 of our best-building.

Thank you unit 1207! Thank you golf and country club for the scenic view!
