At almost 4 months, Scout has been welcomed to the Christian world!

We decided to have the ceremony at the same church where we had our wedding. Since this is where A and I started our life as a family, having Scout's Christening here would make a lot of sense. Plus, I've always appreciated how private the church is for these kinds of ceremony.

We used the big chapel also. It still looks the same from the when A and I got married. Maybe for the next sproglet, we'll try to hold it in the small chapel instead. It's more intimate, but no airconditioning.

Very nice interiors, huh?
Now, let's move to the grub part...
Marmalade Kitchen served as the host to our reception. It's a new restaurant under Chef Aileen Anastacio of Goodies N' Sweets. We chose this restaurant because it's just a few blocks away from our place and I've always been a fan of the dishes and desserts of Goodies N' Sweets. I assumed that Marmalade Kitchen will be able to deliver the same.

It was very easy to arrange for the preps here in Marmalade Kitchen. They've been prompt in responding to my queries and quick to apologize if a reply took a while to deliver. Ms. Thina has been very accommodating and what surprised me was how hands-on Chef Aileen is in the operations. Considering she's a celebrity chef, she's pretty easy to talk to. She was the one who actually sat down with me to talk about our requirements for the event. I actually liked it when she asked me what our budget is and came up with an off-the-menu suggestions. And to make things better, I was even allowed to order some food from Goodies N' Sweets to be served at the reception at no extra charge! I mean, sure both belong to the same group, but technically, it should operate independently. So, I was actually expecting a minimal corkage fee, at least.

Marmalade Kitchen can accommodate around 70+ people including the Al Fresco area. I already like the interior of the place. Quite homey with the brick wall accent and whimsical (see the wire whisk drop lights?).

The far end of the restaurant also serves as a classroom for their culinary courses.

We opted for a managed buffet setup for a more organized plating of the food.

(Yes, that's Chef Aileen behind the kitchen. She was actually cooking the dishes being served.Talk about being hands-on)
And here's the star of menu, at least for the dessert-loving guests, the dessert buffet!

Here's Scout's Christening cake. Adorable, right? I heard the sheep cake  and cupcake base were really good. The cupcake had a chocolate base while the cake has a lemon base (I think. I don't exactly remember what was ordered haha)

Here's what we had for the celebration:
A. PASTA
Spaghetti Bolognese
Pasta Carbonara

B. ENTRÉE
BBQ Pork Ribs
Fish Meuniere
Chicken with 40 cloves (w/rice)
C. DESSERT
Decadence w/ caramel sauce
Red Velvet
Chocolate Cupcakes
Chocolate Chip
Oatmeal Raisin
Double Chocolate
Lemon Squares
Chocolate Revel Bars
Gooey Brownies
E. BEVERAGE
Iced Tea (Bottomless)
Coffee
Tea
The guests have been raving about the food. Then again, I didn't doubt it in the first place. I would have to commend the Marmalade Kitchen team in supervising the lunch. Even their General Manager for the day was busy being a Maître d.
Scout's Christening was a very good day to spend with family and friends. It was a celebration indeed!
