Well, I'm not all out on the Chrismassy mood yet, though I have started my annual routine in preparation for it. I usually go to malls after work while waiting for A, but I don't seem to take notice much of the Christmas decors. Then again, the reason may either be because I go to my usual after office malls or the decorations just couldn't give me the Chrismassy feel.

I really like to play with food no matter how many times people have told me not to do so growing up. It's just there would be times I don't know what to eat, but I can taste all these flavors on my palate. Then I start going around looking for ingredients and try to make something out of it. And today's pick is 7-Up. I remember my mom using 7-Up in her cooking. Apparently, aside from adding a different flavor to food, it serves as a meat tenderizer as well. This recipe calls for 1/2kg chuck ribs and the following recipe: Marinade: 1/2 can 7-Up 1/4c soy sauce 4T oil minced garlic oil for grilling Salsa: 1 tomato, diced 1/2 onion, diced 1T lemon juice parsley olive oil salt pepper 1. Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Marinade the meat for at least an hour. 2. Mix all salsa ingredients in a bowl. Chill. 3. Heat the pan. Add in oil. Grill chuck rib (doneness according to preference). Cover the pan with lid for a minute before turning rib on the other side. You can serve it as a whole steak I decided to clean the fridge early this week and checked out ingredients that I need to use soon. Grabbing a bell pepper, garlic, cherry tomatoes, parsley, and butter, I made my way to the pantry to get a can of sliced button mushroom, chili flakes and, pasta. It's buttered mushroom pasta dinner for us tonight. Here are the ingredients:
small can of sliced button mushroom 1T garlic, minced half a bell pepper, julienne 8 pcs. cherry tomatoes, halved 3T pasta water parsley, minced chili flakes While waiting for the pasta to cook, I started prepping the rest of the ingredients - In a pan, sauté the garlic and chili flakes. Add in the bell pepper. After a few seconds, add the rest of the ingredients (mushroom, parsley, cherry tomatoes, pasta water). Pour these over the pasta. Serve with parmesan cheese. Talk about good fortune...
I went to the mall to have an ID photo taken. I passed by the grocery first to buy a shampoo. At first I bought the item from inside the grocery, but the cashier ticked me off so I returned the item and left the grocery. There was a L'oreal promo booth in front of the grocery. I got a shampoo and conditioner when the promo lade told me that I qualified for their raffle promo. Grand prize were tickets to the Philippine Fashion Week. I pulled out the fashion week tickets from the fishbowl. Having no plans to go, I asked for a lesser-valued item instead. So i got the makeover. And here's what I got - |
